How We Work
Diagnostics are critical to disease identification, to surveillance and treatment, and to establish public health policies and prevention initiatives.
Developing countries often lack the resources to address emerging or endemic infectious disease threats, including high-quality diagnostic tools, laboratory facilities and trained staff. Many developing countries are also disproportionately affected by infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and pneumonia.
The Mérieux Foundation’s sustainable model addresses these challenges by working with local leadership to enhance local capacities, increasing research capabilities and access to diagnostics, and enabling global knowledge sharing.
