The Agence Française de Développement and the Mérieux Foundation continue their commitment to strengthen the West African Network of Clinical Laboratories (RESAOLAB)

Rémy Rioux, Director General of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), today signed a project with Jean-Pierre Bosser, Director General of the Mérieux Foundation, to develop more efficient and reliable laboratory services in West Africa. Strengthening clinical diagnostics is a central public health issue in West Africa. This RESAOLAB project will receive a total of €8.6 million.

The Mérieux Foundation takes action in response to the Ebola emergency in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

An Antonov airplane hired specially by the Mérieux Foundation will take off from the Lyon-Saint Exupery airport (France) on Wednesday October 9. Three container laboratories have been loaded onto the aircraft to bolster efforts to control the Ebola virus disease epidemic. Their final destination is Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Creation of the Alliance Pasteur Mérieux International Two major French players in the fight against infectious diseases join forces to improve public health in vulnerable countries

The Institut Pasteur and the Mérieux Foundation announce the formation of an alliance to strengthen public health systems in limited resource settings and epidemic preparedness in the face of an ever-changing infectious disease threat. The agreement signed by Christian Vigouroux, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institut Pasteur, and Alain Mérieux, President of the Mérieux Foundation, accompanied by Stewart Cole, President of the Institut Pasteur and Bernard Sinou, Interim Director General of the Mérieux Foundation, brings together two major players in the fields of research and public health.

Maryline Bonnet receives the 2019 Christophe Mérieux Prize for her research on tuberculosis in developing countries

The 2019 Christophe Mérieux Prize was awarded by Fondation Christophe et Rodolphe Mérieux of the Institut de France to Maryline Bonnet on Wednesday June 5th under the dome of the Institut de France. The pulmonologist and research director in Uganda was awarded for her tuberculosis research program in developing countries.

The BAMS training in Haiti evolves and integrates the Bachelor of Medical Biology from the State University of Haiti

The Bachelor of Applied Medical Sciences (BAMS) is a professional training program for senior laboratory technicians launched in 2011 in Haiti to strengthen the country’s medical biology capacities. The degree course is now integrated into the State University of Haiti as the fourth year of the Bachelor of Medical Biology degree.
