On December 7, 2016, the Pauline-Marie Jaricot Mother and Child center was opened in the Iraqi Kurdistan region. It provides comprehensive, quality medical care for the many displaced people in the region, bringing them diagnosis and targeted medical treatment.

From January 18th to 20th, 2017, some seventy participants, including the leading figures in clinical biology of Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo gathered at the fourth International Steering Committee for RESAOLAB, the West African laboratory network of biomedical analysis laboratories, in Dakar in Senegal. There, they shared their results in fighting against epidemics and improving laboratory services across the West African region.

Fondation Mérieux, in partnership with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alps Region, has sent an expert to join the local health team in Haiti responding to Hurricane Matthew. Fondation Mérieux is also assessing the emergency needs for medical assistance of its Haitian partners, particularly the GHESKIO Centers, Haiti’s national expert in cholera and diarrheal diseases.
